Children only know about cultures and communities that they are exposed to. It is important to be able to find books that can open a world of possibilities and new experiences. The book chosen in this project provides a new perspective on being an immigrant from another country, and what it is like to have a learning disability. The headphones will enhance the learning during the online sessions to help students reach grade level in reading and math. Some students do not have the funds to get headphones, and end up not being able to use any. By having enough books to do a guided reading sessions, each student has the ability to take the book home and get lost in the world within the pages. As a teacher, I never want income ability to stop my students from getting an enriched education.
