My goal is to teach our students thought-provoking activities to help them develop critical thinking skills and enhance their conflict resolution, mediation, and social emotional competency. Through this we will promote long-term literacy using ethnically diverse stories and folk tales that foster multicultural understanding, values, and character, building. The goal is teach students “real life,” situations and apply what they have learned, through practical application; to teach students what to do and why to do it. The goal is for students to use these skills without the dependence of and adult. After students reach proficiency, I will give them a role plays and coach them with positive reinforcement. I will be going into each classroom and presenting hands on activities that will engage and capture the attention of any student and teach them how to become a better member of our school community through violence and bullying prevention education.
