It can be difficult to find what can really engage middle schoolers, but something that never seems to fail is some friendly competition. Our new curriculum is rigorous, so my students are constantly reading new books. When discussing the books in class and posing questions, these whiteboards would greatly enhance the students’ learning experience. Implementing them in my lessons will encourage their participation and engagement, so students will be more excited to learn and more likely to retain the information. As a first-year special education teacher, I know this tool will help my students fall in love with reading.
