Currently, our classroom, like most, have cold linoleum-type floors. When our class participates in activities such as literacy centers, conferences, and small groups, students often are sitting on the cold floor. Even though they do it, they do so reluctantly because the floor is cold and uncomfortable. A classroom rug will make all the necessary activities that require students to gather a comfortable space for meaningful learning experiences. In addition to the functional purpose of a classroom rug, the rug also gives a powerful message. "Everyone is welcome" is a statement that influences a learning environment that fosters learning for all students. The size and durability of the carpet will make it useful for many years, and many students, to come!
