Research has shown students learn through creative thinking and building. Our classroom will benefit from these hands-on building materials while engaged in our STEM lessons. My students will use these materials to encourage higher order thinking skills incorporated with reading, writing, and math concepts. These materials will also help students expand their cooperative learning skills as they learn to work as a team. While it is important for children to learn the academics, it is becoming increasingly important to teach social skills as well. My students will be working in groups with these materials. Each group will be responsible for working as a team to solve problems and create successful projects. My students will love using hands on activities...and we know students learn best when they enjoy the lessons!
