In my 8th grade Math classroom, after students have worked hard on the Core content for the day, we move into an Intervention block where students work on individualized programs that focus on their area of needs. This requires them to have access to headphones so they may listen to the lesson that is being taught. At the same time, a small group of students is also working with me or additional staff in the room. The need for the environment to be quiet is essential so that all students can be successful at making gains in different areas. Headphones from years past may not be readily available on a daily basis when my students are working on their program work or may be broken. This causes them to have to go without sound or work on a different assignment so the environment is quiet. Your donation will help ensure that my classroom has a set of headphones at all Intervention times.
