Our school is a huge advocate for the Reader's Workshop model. My third graders spend lots of time reading independently. Most of that time they love to be spread out around the room. However, the floor can be hard and uncomfortable. This results in students constantly moving around to find a comfortable space instead of reading. I would love to provide my students with a comfortable space to curl up with a good book. By donating to this project you will be helping students stay focused on reading because they are in a comfortable space. The flex-space comfy seats will give them a comfortable spot to read or write while staying engaged. The wobble chairs will also help students be able to move around safely in their chair at the small group table while staying focused on the lesson. When you think about where you like to read it's usually in a nice comfy spot. Many of my students come from a low socioeconomic background and don't have a space of their own at home. Providing a warm inviting classroom with comfortable seating would make my students so happy and even more eager to read!
