In the past, students have only received copies of excerpts from the novels. Having a hard copy of the book will support my students in really diving deep into the themes of these novels. Students will be able to read the entire novel, from start to finish, highlight key information and mark pages to reread, all in an effort of having a deep understanding of what they are reading. Having a copy of the novel also supports their writing as they are finding supporting evidence and making meaning of figurative language used throughout. It gives the ​authentic feel of reading a novel from start to finish.

About my class
