Having flexible seating options in my classroom encourages students to collaborate while learning. So many classrooms today are filled with desks, or chairs and tables, that I want a sense of "home" while my students are with me. In the past, I have used flexible seating to recognize "Stellar Students" who have been working hard towards accomplishing either a personal or class goal. The idea of sitting in a "comfy" seat and being recognized really motivates them to accomplish the challenges I put before them. This year, I would really like to expand the resources I have for flexible seating with these bean bag chairs so that students have more opportunities to collaborate, and feel pride in their performance.
