Students will use the Playaways, which are a pre-loaded audiobook device, plus a print copy of the book to allow them to enjoy the book. Playaways will enhance vocabulary and reading ability. This will give them access to books they are unable to read independently. This will give them another avenue to improve their reading skills. Literacy is improved by listening to books read aloud. Comprehension will be increased. They will be able to see the printed word and hear how it sounds. Students will be able to listen to these books anytime, anywhere without a computer connection which many do not have access to.
