This iPad will travel with me throughout the district. I will use it to build skills for students receiving occupational therapy services. Students will utilize specifically chosen Apps during occupational therapy sessions as a warm-up activity or as a reward at the end of the session. The Apps used will improve the student's visual perceptual skills, handwriting skills, communication skills, attention, fine motor and dexterity skills, emotional regulation skills, and executive functioning skills. I love the children I work with and love what I do. I want to be able to maximize all the time we have together so they can be as independent as possible in the classroom. Having an iPad to use across the district, will immensely enhance occupational therapy interventions. The majority of the children I work with love technology and with the addition of the Apple Pen to the project, another multi-sensory technique can be used during therapy to further improve handwriting skills.
