Kindergarten is the place where many foundational skills are taught and learned. Kindergartners still are at an age where they can learn through play and enriching experiences. These materials and resources will assist with providing each student with the necessary tools to foster learning and growth in both literacy and math. Through generous donations, the students will be able to build their literacy and math skills. My classroom is in need of various types literacy work centers. Students can choose books on their level in the leveled library and sit in the chairs while they read. Using the CVC Word Work Center and Rhyme Sorting game will assist with those foundational reading skills. The students will use the various math manipulatives such as the magnetic numbers and counters to reinforce their math skills. The math manipulatives will allow the students to have fun while learning and increase engagement and decrease undesirable behaviors. This will lead them away from pencil and paper activities and broaden their literacy and math experiences. Students will greatly benefit from having access to these literacy and math materials. It will provide them with great hands-on experiences and provide them with various fun ways of learning.
