These headphones will allow me to target instruction to individual students in both small group and in whole group instruction. Students will be able to independently increase reading vocabulary and fluency using these headphones with an iPad. During science and social studies they can gather information to share with the class. As students become familiar with using technology on a regular basis, they will be more prepared to use it during assessments. Students as young as six and seven are expected to take reading and mathematics assessments on computers and iPads. This makes headphones a necessity for every classroom. This fall my students will be expected to complete an online reading assessment. With headphones, they will be able to confidently move at their own pace and work in a distraction-free environment. Further, students will be more comfortable using technology during assessments if they have access to it during regular class periods. Headphones can make this possible.
