As adults it can be extremely hard to sit in one place or sit still for any extended length of time. Now, imagine a child sitting for a long period of time. In my classroom, I strive to engage all of my students by keeping them moving and focused on our content. Although having my students up and moving around while learning is engaging and useful, this cannot always be done. When my students are not moving around, they sit in desks and flexible seating stations; I want my students to be comfortable when our learning is stationary by giving them the choice of where and how they would like to sit. These stools will help my students to feel more free when they need to use their desks in class. Flexible seating provides student with choices in their educational experience; student choice can promote confidence and the ability for a student to show who they are as an individual.
