Objective This funding would be used to set up a token economy reinforcement system on the academic achievement of 9th-12th-grade students with disabilities. There are many theorists who have done research on a token economy used for students with special needs and it significantly increases in the academic achievement of students with intellectual disabilities when using token economy than using social reinforcements compared with typically developing children. Students will get reinforced every time they follow the classroom rules, turn in homework/classwork and more. They will be given each time either a raffle ticket or Monopoly, which in two-four weeks they will get to "cash-in" and pick a reinforcer (snack, school supplies, and more). By having a token economy, it helps motivate my students to want to learn and to be more academically successful because they want to earn those reinforcers. Therefore, a token economy reinforcement system increases the academic achievement of students with disabilities in the class. Ideally, my classroom reinforcement system would consist of raffle tickets or Monopoly money earned when completed varies task then biweekly or monthly the student can "cash-in" their Monopoly money or raffle tickets to any secondary tangible reinforcer. It could be their favorite snacks, school supplies, tickets to the movies, etc.
