Our school, unfortunately, has a small budget and a large number of struggling students. My goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students. In order to do this, school cannot be just textbooks and worksheets all day every day!
Engaging materials make learning fun and interesting.
Informational text is a large part of ELA instruction - and testing. As adults, we spend much more time reading magazines and news articles than we do reading novels. Therefore, having the skills to read and understand various nonfiction texts is critical. Time for Kids is a fun, unique way to bring informational text into the elementary classroom.
Math ... such a dreaded word in fourth grade! Math always seems to be the most complained-about subject. Wouldn't it be great if math was FUN? Dry erase paddle boards make doing math as a whole group interactive, fun, and competitive - in a fun way! They also allow me to quickly and easily check up on students' math skills without having to assign and collect quizzes. Math games provide hands-on centers for students to play and investigate - the absolute best ways to learn, in my opinion. Your donations will turn our classroom into a fun wonderland of learning that my students will enjoy and talk about long after the school day ends!
