Our students are faced with new challenges and pressures that are unchartered. Provided the necessary supports on a consistent basis, is vital to the successful development of their social, emotional and academic success. As a school counselor I plan to implement Core Curriculum Classroom Instruction to prepare our students for future success. Providing the fundamentals and skill set to help our students maneuver socially, emotionally and academically has never been a more vital part of their development. Our students need resources that allow me to provide a curriculum rich in social skills, offer experiences/opportunities and time for conversations These resource will foster the need to create classroom communities that are supportive. Establishing a time for social-emotional learning in the classroom setting provides a safe space for students to authentically connect to themselves and to others as they build social, emotional and academic success skills. I hope to bring back these vital skills to our elementary school in a proactive manner.
