My students are from low-income families. Over sixty percent of the students in my school are at the poverty line. They enjoy the arts, and making art gives them a sense of achievement. My student have art once a week. Students have mentioned that art class is the one place where they can have fun and create. When the kids walk by the art room they wave at me and say they can't wait untill art class again. I became an art educator because I discovered the value of art making at a very young age. Making art gave me joy and a sense of accomplishment as a child. Art teachers can stimulate creativity and be motivators. My wish is to help plant the seed of greater beauty in humanity through teaching and sharing my artistic skills. I want to communicate my passion for the arts with students, in hopes to motivate them to discover their higher potential so they too can experience joy from their creative accomplishments.
