I have spent the last 20 years collecting resources and materials to share with my students and make my classroom learning environment a safe place to learn. I am known as the "thrift store" queen; always looking for the next motivating artifact, book, or furniture piece to add to my classroom. Students get so excited when they get to choose where they want to sit and collaborate. I have continued to spend my own personal money for all these years because I see the daily effect it has had on all my students. That student spark is my motivation. My goal is to create a learning environment where students can sit in collaborative groups around the room and are engaged with their peers and motivated to learn. Unfortunately, recent fire codes and restrictions have forced me to eliminate many of my current seating options, including my armchairs and all 8 of my large area rugs in my classroom. I am in need of approved flexible seating options to help replace what I currently have. I am looking for a new armchair, stools for seating around the classroom, and a large group area rug for collaborative work. So for the first time in my teaching career, I am reaching out to donors who would support my students and my love for our classroom environment . This is our second home and I thank you for taking the time to support our classroom.
