Having a listening center in my classroom will provide a fun and engaging way for my diverse learners to access reading. It's a great resource to assist meeting my students individual reading needs by allowing them to see how words come alive and in an expressive way. I teach students with various reading abilities. Being able to group students at the listening station by ability opens the door for great small group discussion and learning. A listening center also provides a model of fluent reading with multiple narrators and sound affects that can awaken a deeper appreciation for reading and comprehension.
