The CD player introduces my students to books above their reading level and provides a read-aloud model. The headphones allow my students to hear the stories clearly with interpretation. Each should have their own headphones so that they can learn responsibility. The jumper allows my students' headphones be connected to the CD player. This listening center will increase word explanation, improve vocabulary, and build background knowledge. Also, it removes printed work decoding anxiety and develops grade-level appropriate content knowledge. It gives students educational independence, builds background knowledge, and reduces working-memory deficit. Furthermore, this listening center allows my students to hear beautiful stories told by talented storytellers.
