My students can use help staying focused! As children with diagnosed attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, they learn best when they can fidget and think aloud and discuss ideas. However, one child’s learning can be another child’s distraction. Noise-canceling headphones will allow students to block out the disruptions of a busy classroom and concentrate on their work in my ELA and math resource classes. Those students who benefit from active learning can continue to move and talk without disrupting the others. Additionally, these larger headphones are safer for young ears than earbuds. Many of these children can barely afford any headphones, much less those with noise-canceling properties, so there are not specific requirements on our student supply lists.
