Do you enjoy reading at your dining room table, or on your comfy couch? Do you prefer to sit on a hard plastic chair to get your work done, or relax in a hammock to boost productivity? Students in my classroom will have the ability to choose where they work best. To be used as an incentive for engaged learning, flexible seating in my classroom will give my students the opportunity to boost their creative influences when surrounded in comfort. From the music I play, to the posters in my room, to the collaborative projects placed in front of my students, my classroom is a student centered room. I want my students to be able to escape the pressures of their lives, but still be actively engaged in the learning taking place inside our family classroom. My students will learn what makes them a better thinker, learner, and creator. This is a skill that my students will take with them forever – the ability to choose where you work best. How to create a space that gets the brain flowing with ideas. These students will feel comfortable sitting down to write a story, or get wrapped up in a great novel when they have the option of doing so using flexible seating.
