I teach 9th - 12th grade students in a small rural community. The school is one campus comprising PK - 12th grade. There is no gas station or convenient store in this town, only a cotton gin. Many of my students have never been outside this area and many more have never left the state or seen the ocean. This small school, however, does not prevent them from dreaming big and they are always appreciative of opportunities they get to apply their knowledge with hands on experiences. Because the school and community are so small we really see ourselves as a family. Not only will my students be impacted by this grant but really the entire school and community.
