This year, one of the​ greatest focuses in my classroom is building relationships. I want to create a space where students become a community of learners who respect, teach, and grow from their peers. A way I plan to establish this rapport is to have daily morning meetings. During our morning meetings, we will greet one another, discuss a wide range of topics that include character building, and participate in team-building activities. I believe a large rug is a place where we could gather as a class to build relationships and learn from one another. Along with learning from one another, daily meetings will also cover vocabulary and oral language skills that are a part of our teaching standards.
