The classroom carpet is a whole group meeting spot for learning to take place. Concepts are taught and practiced here. Students collaborate and create at the carpet. Read Alouds, discussions, and math practice is done at the carpet. The classroom seating rug also allows for each student to have their own square and space. This offers structure for students and gives them their own area. The classroom carpet also brings in a piece of home to the classroom allowing students to feel cozy and comfortable; it is truly a special place to be. Community is so important with our students. Each and every day, students will be able to get out of their chairs and sit together at the carpet as a family and learn together.
