I am a Teacher Assistant in the process of attaining my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at Trinity University. This summer, I took the course Technology in Education. I was blown away by all the ways teachers can integrate technology in their classroom. During the course, we read "Google Apps for Littles" by Christine Pinto, which was a great resource of using technology in the lower grade classrooms.
I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be great to use some type of technology in my classroom?"
I pictured planning QR Scavenger Hunts in which students are in teams and wander around to find a QR code (with link to a short video or unit theme information). Students could also read digital books in the library center and have books read aloud. Using technology will help students take more control of their learning experiences. Every child learns differently, having multiple ways of learning can only benefit each learner. Both teachers and students can develop skills essential for the 21st century.
