These kits will give my students the ability to visualize and manipulate what they are learning about. It will transform abstract and foreign concepts into a manipulative students can see and understand. Many students struggle with understanding atoms and bonding. Language barriers and educational achievement gaps add to that frustration. Modeling kits will allow my students to link chemistry jargon to a real world manipulative and increase comprehension. Hands on demonstrations are crucial for learning and student comprehension. Your donation will support a teaching resource that will be used through the school year to reinforce various concepts. We will be modeling the different types of chemical molecular bonds and building examples of common molecules with those specific bonding. We will explore how chemical bonds affect the 3D structure of molecules and the affects of this in daily life.
