Flexible seating facilitates student-centered, collaborative learning, fosters a positive classroom community, and even promotes healthy, kinesthetic learning. Flexible seating supports more student-directed, 21st-century learning. Physical activity has been proven over and over again, to improve academic performance. If kids can’t sit still for 8 hours straight, then maybe we shouldn’t expect them to! With flexible seating I will be able to foster a more authentic learning environment that adapts to the unique needs of ALL of my students. It also encourages collaboration and a sense of responsibility among students. With flexible seating, I will improve my teaching and better my students.
