Flexible seat can be something as simple as the classroom rug. The students come here to gather and share about their weekends. They come to listen to a fairy tale or learn about animals in their native habitats. They come to participate in math talks where they learn different ways to make ten. They come to learn. Being able to provide an alternative seating environment gives the students opportunities for interactions and flexibility to learn in their own ways. A classroom rug is the core of the classroom. Having this area of the classroom for essential elements of teaching is vital. Additionally, a rug with calming colors and simplistic squares helps to support children with special needs. Providing student not only with a structured place for learning, but also variety in their seat options help many students. Wobble stools to be used at the rug or at students' desk can help provide variation to meet the needs of all our students.
