Being a special education teacher, I know that students learn best in their own unique way. Having flexible seating options will greatly benefit the diverse group of learners in my classroom. Flexible seating allows for students to stay on task all while increasing their engagement and enhancing their academic learning With a variety of flexible seating options offered within the classroom, it allows for them to succeed in a more "flexible" environment. My hopes are that offering stability balls, floor cushions, carpet, and scoop rockers (purchasing on own) will provide them the comfort they need to focus and actively learn! I know that the various types of flexible seating would be a positive change for my classroom this upcoming school year.
