I am adding to my classroom library for my 6th grade ELA students. I want to create a love of reading so that these students continue to read for a lifetime. I know that I have the power to change the way they look at reading, which will transfer to all subjects in the rest of their education. Mysteries have proven to be some of my students' favorites in previous years, so I would like to add some clipboards for notetaking and new eight sets of mystery books in order to begin literature circles in this area. I am confident that this will make a tremendous impact. Hearing them discuss their reading will show me their understanding of the texts, and help them to develop critical thinking skills, and the ability to interact with peers.
