Using these materials will not just support readers, but amplify the rigor of expectations provided by our county. In Readers workshop, every student should have at least 30 books. Some of these books should have more than one copy to support partner reading as well. Classroom libraries should be inviting. The students need to be engaged with a text that they choose and the readers workshop can be effective when supporting the student with strategies to use in all of their text. The mindset of "Mirrors and Windows" to reach all students with different reading abilities is my guide. Mirrors and Windows provides them with the opportunity to see themselves in the books but also use there imagination when they are reading about others. Their should be a little prior knowledge for everyone to choose from. This project will support reading and writing and enhance students ability to do task independently with fewer class disruptions. By donating to this project, it allows all students to have an equal opportunity to be over acheivers throughout the school year!!
