In today's world, students need to be problem solvers who have enough persistence to create and solve complex situations. For this reason, the latest Next Generation Science Standards encourage students to use scientific knowledge to solve engineering problems. The Bridge and Mechanic model kits will allow my students multiple opportunities to engage in the engineering process and fine tune their engineering skills. Students will be put into groups to plan, test, and improve on their engineering models. They will have to collaborate the best way to solve their tasks based on the criteria and constraints given. This kit will provide my students with a variety of opportunities so they may actively engage in the engineering process over time.
