Last year, one of my close colleagues transformed her room with flexible seating groupings. Some of the benefits of flexible seating are students are calm, focused, and productive. Further, students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Flexible seating allows students to easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class. Following her model, I began to experiment with flexible seating in my room with what leftover furniture I was able to scrounge up around my building. This year I have decided to take this concept farther with furniture designed for this purpose!
