Having an adequate inventory of safety equipment encourages more engagement in labs for my students. Students will be able to protect themselves and their clothing. This will help to remove barriers and hesitation about activities and help them have the confidence they need to advance. Some example activities where this equipment is needed: soil chemistry and water chemistry labs, DNA labs, leaf photosynthesis labs, etc. Students' clothes may get dirty with soil and dyes. This can cause students to hesitate. These supplies will be used all year long and the aprons and goggles will be used in the following years as well.
