I am a new, first grade teacher for the upcoming school year 2020-2021. Through the many challenges that our students have faced due to covid-19, I know that this next year will be a big year for them to break through with their learning. Please help my students by providing them with flexible seating along with supportive, hands-on manipulatives to build that love and engagement in their learning. Students today are eager to learn and have lots of activity to show that. Why flexible seating? Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. Providing flexible seating helps keep young minds more alert and focused. In our class, providing the option to sit, stand, or rock will help my students focus and engage in everyday learning. These students are set for success and by giving them supports and alternative seating, will help keep them excited about learning and growing. Thank you so much for your support!
