Having more hands-on learning activities for my K-1 students gives them the opportunity to learn in others ways than just paper and pencil. My students are creative and engaged. They want to learn. We just lack the variety of learning tools to give to them for them to learn to their full potential. I want all my students to have what they need to be challenged . Having manipulatives and learning games that I have asked for allows me to set up rotations during math/literacy for my students . My students need this time to make learning fun. Having a game such as number locks , allows students to work on fine motor at the same time they're recognizing and pairing their numbers. They are so engaged with counting and finding their number to pair the lock , that it makes learning so engaging .
