Representation in literature is extremely important for students. Did you know that most books only depict stories of white characters?Unfortunately, most books do not represent the diversity of students. However, there are some amazing books out there that fill this need. Through this project, I hope to create a classroom library where every student can see themselves represented in a book. These books will connect to students' lives, and their eyes will light up when they see characters with such similar stories. These books are culturally relevant and will help bridge the gap between home and school for many students. They will also promote a love of reading and learning.
