With these books, my students will increase their reading abilities by exploring Roald Dahl's classic imaginative books. These books will allow the students to build on their vocabulary since Dahl uses such descriptive writing. While reading the books, the students will work on writing activities that will require them to dive back into the novels and look for descriptive words that they can use to enhance their own writing. In addition to that, the students will also build on their critical thinking skills by having group, or class, discussions about the reading. Not only will the students focus on the language arts aspect, but will be encouraged to use their creativity while reading. The novels are filled with details that take readers to another world. My students will use all those details to create artworks that center around the novels. This will improve the students' imagination which will allow the students to think outside the box in other aspects of their lives.
