With your help, I hope to increase the flexible seating options in our classroom to promote student-centered learning and to build our classroom library to promote a love of reading. Spending so much of our day in this room, I want all of my students to feel welcome, safe, comfortable and part of a community. With more flexible seating choices, my students will be able to determine (with rules and expectations) where and how they will sit in the room to fit their individual learning styles. Over the past couple of years, I have started to implement flexible seating and have been very happy with the responsibility that my students have shown. We are now ready to increase our flexible seating options to encourage growth in stamina and engagement. When the students are comfortable, they remain focused and productive. Choice seating can allow for sensory stimulation for my students with ADHD or ADD. Finally, these options, whether independent, partner or group activity driven, will help to promote a fun learning environment. Thank you for your consideration, Ms. Garling
