The Kindle E-Readers that I am requesting will help foster a love for reading in my classroom. In a generation where everything is done behind a screen I want my students to know that reading can be behind it too. For many of my students, having the opportunity to have their hands on an electronic book will change their initial judgment of reading in the classroom and will provide a high-level of engagement that even the best paper book couldn't provide . Not only will it bring new excitement to reading, but it will allow diversity in our classroom library and help it grow. E-books can often be shared, found discounted or even for free. The more titles my students can be exposed to the more likely they will find a book that changes the way they look at reading forever. Lastly, by donating to this project, my students will have the opportunity to be exposed to a level of reading they never thought possible. The E-Readers have the capability of reading things aloud, translating, and providing definitions. For many of my students this will eliminate many reading frustrations. They will feel successful in their reading as they finish books they never thought they could and become more avid readers. Please consider funding our project so my students can swipe right and read!
