The materials I am requesting will be used throughout the year for my students as we learn about renewable and non renewable resources. We will learn what the energy sources are, where they come from and what it has to do with us! When teaching lessons on energy efficiency and alternative energy resources in the past, students have struggled to “grasp” the concept, especially its importance as it can be abstract to them. The donations to this project will help my students discover that using alternative energy is not out of their reach! Engaging with these materials will illustrate two concepts to my students. First, examples of alternative energy sources and secondly, how this resources are and can be used. When implemented with our Science curriculum, students will be afforded the experience and knowledge of the importance of energy efficiency and discovery and development of alternative energy sources. Through the use of these hands-on materials, and lessons created by myself, my students will engage in activities that correspond best to their learning.
