I would really love to read these books,The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian and Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, with my 12th grade students in order to provide them with a more diverse curriculum. I think by providing my students with a more diverse curriculum, they will be better equip to handle the world around them which is increasingly more diverse. We need more diverse curriculum. They will not only benefit in school by caring about what they are reading but they will also benefit in life. They've fake read their way through high school and I think that if we have more diverse curriculum, I might be able to change that.
