I am a first-year art teacher building my classroom from scratch. Most of the items are pretty standard for Art 1. I did get a good amount of materials to get started believe it or not, however art supplies are expensive and with 25-30 kids per class its hard to fully supply a brand new art class. I am hoping to teach and potentially develop a printmaking curriculum here at my school but I need to get them interested first. Some of the more expensive materials on my list are for this purpose. I hope to engage and inspire students to create and sell their own art and to grow the creative mindset of hundreds of students.I believe the arts can teach us a great deal about ourselves and the world around us. Art can lends us the ability to learn that making mistakes is ok. I would like to create a choice based art room with a variety of supplies. I would like for my students to have the ability to expirement and have the confidence to try new materials. With these materials I will be able to fully encourage my students creativity, experimentation, social responsibility and sense community. Unfortunately, art supplies are expensive and I dont want to limit the endless possibilities these students could produce just because I haven't had the time to build up our supplies please help support my classes ability to do more with art! Thank you for your time!
