The use of the iPad is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in science. Using the iPad will allow me to give my student quick feedback on their assignments. Students can record their scores as well as the standard that needs remediation. This will allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that paperwork done by hand is sometimes delayed. With 5 classes and 175 students grading becomes a major task. The goal is to give immediate feedback. I want my students to take ownership of their grades. Students can use this information for pair group remediation or whole group remediation. It is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues to move on to the next standard without grasping the previous standard. I do not want the students to miss important instruction form either myself or other students. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their academic goal as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
