As an occupational therapist in the school system, I utilize different arts and crafts to empower and provide learning outlets for our special needs students. Over the past few years, the cost of purchasing individualized and "custom" art projects have gone up at stores with the cost of materials increasing. Every student that I work with is functionally at a different level and as a result their custom needs varies by project. Each student I work with has a gift despite their disability. It is my job to help them find the right tools they need to help them reach their learning potential and develop these fine motor and visual motor skills. Through this project, it will enable my students to learn and grow in a fun and creative way while promoting their fine motor skills for improve school success. The Cricut machine affords me to make customized fine motor projects tailored to my students' varying abilities. Utilizing a Cricut is also a cost effective and efficient tool to use in the school setting. At a time where these students need to express themselves and promote creative learning, the Cricut will enable new heights and creative boundaries for my students especially using the Cricut tools, colored paper, and markers provided in the bundle. The carrying case will provide a way to preserve and transport the Cricut machine for this year's students use as well as many more students in the upcoming years.
