I want to set up a learning environment that fits each individual's needs. While students are in school, they are learning more than the TEKS they are learning organization skills social skills. Flexible seating allows students to take ahold of their learning and learn in a comfortable space that is best for them. Flexible seating increases student collaboration and engagement. Flexible seating allows students to easily work in groups, work in pairs and quickly transition to whole group learning space. The goals are for students to be focused, calm and productive. According to recent research, there is a correlation with current advances in technology correlate with the increased number of a student diagnosed with ADHD. Most classrooms require students to sit in their desks quietly and patiently to learn. With flexible seating, they can work in different areas of the classroom. The flexible seating allows them to feel more comfortable and allows them to have more collaboration in their learning. Instead of having a teacher center classroom it opens the door for collaboration. Now, I do not have the resources to provide flexible seating for my class. Thus, my students will not have the optimal learning environment without your help.
