It is so much easier to talk about a culture and other parts of the world with students, when they can feel like they are there. Looking at pictures of Parque Güell in Barcelona is interesting, but Iimmersing students via virtual reality in Gaudi's colorful, amazing, and fun architecture is a much more valuable and memorable experience. In our language curriculum, we try to teach different cultural points each year and the Google Cardboard virtual reality devices would allow students to be able to see, engage, and interact with the places we are talking about, instead of just looking at them on a 1 dimensional computer screen or in a book. Google Cardboard is a device that allows students to feel like they are experiencing another place!
