Virtual Reality is an exciting and engaging way to teach students about the world around them, without ever leaving the classroom. Through Google Expeditions, my students can dive deeper into history by exploring places all over the world as we learn about them in class. We can see the Pyramids of Giza up close and personal, stand where our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, and traverse the battlegrounds of Gettysburg. With the Virtual Reality kits, I will be able to lead students on adventures that excite and engage their curious minds. The numerous locations to visit on through Google Expeditions tie into my curriculum perfectly. Instead of looking at pictures in a textbook, students can have the opportunity to feel as if they are actually being transported to a whole different time and place.
